Girl Scouts Goes Digital With My GS!
Are you ready to go digital with My GS?!
My GS is part of a national resource launched by GSUSA that contains the Volunteer Toolkit, a digital resource for planning your Girl Scout year. It also contains Member Profile (a member community that gives all our members online access to their member profile, contact details and membership renewal) and My Activities where they can register for council-sponsored Girl Scout activities! It’s all in one place, under the My GS tab at gswo.org!
What’s so great about My GS? We’re so glad you asked!
This awesome resource is helping Girl Scout volunteers, girls, and parents across the nation leave the stack of papers behind as they go digital with Girl Scouts. Troop leaders and their girls can use the Volunteer Toolkit to explore badges and Journeys, add activities with My Activities, plan their Girl Scout year, and communicate with troop members—all from their mobile device or laptop. These digital planning tools give our members resources and program content to get the year started—and keep it going smoothly!
Here are some of our favorite reasons to love this new resource:
1. Got internet? Got Toolkit! We love how accessible this digital resource is. Waiting in line at the BMV? Pull out your smartphone or tablet, scroll your next meeting’s planning materials, and send a quick reminder to your parents that the troop is working on Brownie Hiker badge and girls should come dressed for the outdoors. Got a minute between meetings? Put together that overnight packing list for the troop campout and add it to the activity description so your parents can all see it. Now you can plan and prepare anywhere!
2. It’s mobile friendly! Use your mobile device to do it all. You can use your smart phone to check how many girls completed the Brownie Senses badge, contact the troop, add a meeting, and so much more. Add the link to your home screen to use the Toolkit like an app (here’s how).
My Activities Link! Volunteers and parents can now use one log-in for membership, Toolkit, and activities registration! This new system allows volunteers to easily access and view activity registrations for girls in their troop (or for family members), and you can use it to register for activities at other councils. Check out this feature at gswo.org under My GS, Member Profile, Activities.
Easily Update Information! Did you change your address recently? Get a new email? Now you can update your contact information, renew your membership, and make sure Girl Scouts has the best contact information available for your entire family with My GS!
And there you go! Four awesome reasons to get excited about My GS as you start planning your Girl Scout year. So what are you waiting for? Go digital and start using My GS today!
