Girl Scouts of Western Ohio’s Take Action Weekend!

Girl Scouts are all about helping others. From our slogan “do a good turn daily” to the Girl Scout law, making the world a better place is embedded in our DNA! While you can help others all year long, and many of our members do, we’ve chosen October 7-9, 2016 as our council-wide Girl Scouts of Western Ohio Take Action Weekend.

During this special weekend groups across our council will be out in their communities serving others as part of an annual movement that unites our members as we honor the legacy of Juliette Gordon Low by showing our communities that Girl Scouts are committed to making the world a better place!

How do you join in? Get your troop, family, service unit or fellow volunteers together, decide what you care about, make a plan, then get out and take action any time during this special weekend. You might serve meals at a soup kitchen, work on a Girl Scout Highest Awards project, clean up a park, or plan an adoption drive for the local humane society. The sky’s the limit when Girl Scouts come together to make a difference! You can share a picture or video of your efforts using the hashtag #GirlScoutsTakeAction2016 to inspire others or register your project so we can track our service and see the impact we make across Western Ohio.

Booker T. Washington says “those who are happiest are those who do the most for others” and there’s some great research backing his claim. So are you ready to be happy? Are you ready to help others this October?

Join us for this simple yet impactful weekend as we show the world that Girl Scouts care about their communities and are there to help.

What are you waiting for? Go to the My GS tab on our website to register for our third annual Take Action Weekend, use the hashtag #GirlScoutsTakeAction2016  to share your story, and spread the happiness with us this October!
