5 Reasons Your Girl Should Be Using Digital Cookie

It’s the beginning of the year, which can only mean one thing: Girl Scout Cookie season!

For the second year in a row, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio is participating in Digital Cookie, a web platform that girls can use to expand their cookie business! Customers can purchase cookies to be shipped to their home, delivered by the girl, or donated to troops overseas!

Digital Cookie offers so many amazing opportunities for your girl. Here are our 5 favorite reasons your girl should be using Digital Cookie!

It takes less time than door-to-door, so your family can sell when it’s most convenient for you.

It seems like everyone is busy these days. With work, school, sports, music lessons, and (most importantly!) Girl Scouts, it can be hard to find time for your family to go door-to-door selling Girl Scout Cookies. We get it!

Luckily, that’s where Digital Cookie helps you out. After setting up her Digital Cookie page, your girl simply sends emails to friends and family asking them to order Girl Scout Cookies. It doesn’t take long to set up, and she can do it on her own time!

It’s open to customers 24/7.

In addition, as soon as your girl sends out her emails, her shop is open 24/7! That means her customers (who are also really busy!) can purchase cookies from her on their own time. No more trying to coordinate a ton of schedules!

Customers on average buy more boxes on Digital Cookie than in person.

On average, people who order cookies in-person (whether on your girl’s order form or at a booth) will order three boxes of cookies. When they order through Digital Cookie, however, that figure jumps to seven boxes of cookies per person! Not too shabby!

Let’s say last year your girl sold 3 boxes each to 100 customers, which works out to 300 boxes total. Now this year, she wants to increase the number of boxes she sells by 25%, so her goal is 375.

Now let’s say she’s just signing up for Digital Cookie this year, and half of her existing customers order through Digital Cookie. Their order increases from 3 boxes to 7. Suddenly she’s at 350 boxes, and that’s before she even talks to the remaining 50 customers!

Troops are able to bring in more proceeds (and therefore do more things!).

In addition to qualifying your girl for more amazing rewards, selling more boxes of cookies means her troop earns more proceeds! Last year, Girl Scouts across western Ohio earned almost $52,000 from Digital Cookie alone. Amazing!

Imagine all of the things your troop could do with extra proceeds from the Cookie Program. Troop trips, Take Action projects, and Troop Adventure Camp are all the more reachable thanks to Digital Cookie!

There are awesome rewards just for girls who use Digital Cookie.

Who doesn’t love rewards? This year, we’ve got two awesome rewards just for girls who use Digital Cookie!

First, girls who send 20+ emails through Digital Cookie will earn the Cookie Techie 2017 patch!

Plus, girls who sell 36+ packages of cookies through Digital Cookie will earn an awesome Padfolio to keep them organized and on top of their goals!

This year, almost 5,000 girls across western Ohio are already using Digital Cookie and seeing amazing results!

Caitlin, If we continue to sell cookies via the Digital Cookie website, what happen’s when someone chooses “in person” delivery? We already included those in our total and shared them with our Cookie mom.

Hi Ali! Thanks so much for asking! If you continue to sell through Digital Cookie (which is fantastic!) and get an order for girl delivery, just connect with your troop cookie manager to ensure they can get the cookies the customer wants, and then can accept the order. 🙂 The troop manager can take those cookies from the extra the troop has or visit any of the cupboards in western Ohio on or after Friday, March 3!
