But what if you could support Girl Scouts of Western Ohio without impacting your budget? Turns out, it’s really easy!

When you shop at Kroger and Amazon, you can support Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, at no additional cost to you. Here’s how!

Kroger Community Rewards

Kroger, which is based right in Cincinnati, gives back to local nonprofit organizations through a program called Kroger Community Rewards. You simply select the charity you’d like to benefit, use your Kroger Plus Card whenever you shop at Kroger, and you’re done!

How to Set It Up

To sign up for Kroger Community Rewards, you first need to sign up for a Kroger Plus Card, which you can do in-store with the cashier or on the Kroger website.

Once you’ve created your account, go to your Account Summary (you can do this by clicking on your name next to the search bar), scroll down to the bottom to the section titled “Community Rewards.” Click Enroll, search for Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, select us from the list, and click Enroll!

If you’ve already set up Kroger Community Rewards and want to switch your charity to GSWO, go to your Account Summary and go down to the bottom section called “Community Rewards.” Click the orange Edit button, and when the search bar appears, search for Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. Select GSWO and click the Enroll button, and you’re good to go!

Important Things to Keep in Mind

Only purchases made with your Kroger Plus Card are eligible for Kroger Community Rewards, so make sure you’re scanning your Kroger Plus Card or typing in your alternate ID whenever you shop at Kroger!

AmazonSmile

It seems like everyone shops on Amazon these days, right? Well, did you know you can give back to GSWO with the purchases you’re already making on Amazon? It’s true!

AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you! When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the same products, prices, and experience that you’d find on Amazon.com. But on AmazonSmile, Amazon donates 0.5% of the purchase price to the charitable organization you select.

How to Set It Up

In order to use AmazonSmile, you’ll need to have a regular Amazon account. You’ll use the same account for both AmazonSmile and regular Amazon (but why would you want to use regular Amazon after you start using AmazonSmile?).

The first time you go to smile.amazon.com, it will prompt you to choose the charity you’d your purchases to benefit.

If you’ve already set up AmazonSmile and want to switch your charity to GSWO, simply open smile.amazon.com, and under the search bar, hover over Supporting: [the charity you currently support]. A box will appear that will show you the name of the charity you’re currently supporting in big letters. Next to the name, select Change. On the next page, type in “Girl Scouts of Western Ohio,” click Search, and choose Girl Scouts of Western Ohio in Blue Ash, OH on the search results page.

Important Things to Keep in Mind

There are some important things to keep in mind to make sure as many purchases qualify for AmazonSmile donations!

• You have to use the URL smile.amazon.com; purchases through your account that are made on amazon.com don’t count!
• Not all products are eligible for an AmazonSmile donation. You’ll notice  in the description of eligible products.
• You can see how much you’ve raised for Girl Scouts of Western Ohio by hovering over Supporting: Girl Scouts of Western Ohio under the search bar!
