Are you ready for our first ever VIRTUAL National Council Session?

Every three years, Girl Scouts from all over the country (and even overseas) come together at the National Council Session to reinvigorate our membership, deepen our commitment to our Movement, and celebrate our successes. At our 55th triennial conference on October 23-25, girls and adult members from over 100 different councils, who applied and were selected as delegates earlier this year, will join together virtually to make important decisions for our organization.

What types of decisions, you ask? The National Council is responsible for giving broad policy direction to the future of the Girl Scout Movement!

Delegates to the National Council elect the National Board of Directors and the National Nominating Committee for the next session, act on proposals directed toward the fostering and improvement of Girl Scouting submitted by various councils and/or the National Board, and receive a report on the board’s stewardship of the Movement in the past three years.

Girl Scouts is a membership-based organization, and the National Council is our opportunity for the local councils, through their delegates, to make our voices heard by voting on decisions that impact the future of our Movement.

Pretty weighty stuff, right?

How can non-delegates participate?

Due to the impact of COVID-19, Girl Scouts will be holding a one-time virtual session and we’re inviting our members to join in for the virtual NCS as a gallery guest!

You can join us for just a few or all of the NCS sessions. The deadline to register is October 18, 2020. Check out the registration site for more details about the sessions and a detailed agenda.

We hope you join us for this momentous occasion!
