More Awesome Ohio Troop Trips

Are you ready to explore new places with your troop? To venture beyond the boundaries of your hometown and see what the Buckeye state has to offer? It’s time for a new adventure—Ohio style!

Ohio has many unique destinations that make great troop trip opportunities. We highlighted some of our favorites back in 2019—including our amazing state parks, the winding shores of Lake Erie, and fun activities to do when visiting the state capital—but new and exciting opportunities are popping up each year. Here are more of our favorite places to add to your troop’s list of future adventures!

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Did you know Ohio has sites that are included in the National Park Service? Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Cleveland is one of the most well-known destinations in our state. With its winding trails through forests and hills, this beautiful park is sure to spark wonder and excitement for your troop!

“There is nothing so American as our national parks…. The fundamental idea behind the parks…is that the country belongs to the people, that it is in process of making for the enrichment of the lives of all of us.”

President Franklin D. Roosevelt

Historic Sites

The National Park Service also includes national monuments and memorials—many of which are located right here in Ohio! Sites like the Dayton Aviation Heritage Historical Park, the First Ladies National Historic Site, and the Hopewell Culture National Historical Park spotlight important parts of our state’s history (and have sections of national scenic trails to trek!).

Adventure Trails

Does your troop enjoy road trips with unique themes? One of Ohio’s 80 adventure trails could be the perfect experience for you. Nature lovers will thrive on the Lake Erie Birding trail. Techie treasure hunters will strike gold on the Ohio History Connection Geocache Trail. Sweet treat seekers will love the Ohio Buckeye Candy Trail and the Ohio Ice Cream Trail. Ohio trails have something for every type of explorer. Check them out, plan your route, and head out for a memorable adventure!
