Calling all Girl Scout adventurers! Are you ready for another awesome year of Girl Scout program events? We are! Have you ever wanted to build a race car? Explore the world of outdoor STEM careers with a geologist? This is your chance! 

We’ve got a wide array of program events coming next fall, so check out the options in our Program Event Guide when it posts online later this summer! Use the guide to plan your year, and grab your spots for fall events at gswo.org/activities when registration opens June 7!

Here’s a sneak peak of some fall 2017 program events that we’re excited about:

Derby-Race Car Build Day

Want to win the race this year? Girls of all levels come learn from the experts how to design and  build your fastest car for the race track! This is a building day where girls can build their race cars by learning the wood working skills through the assistance of our experts. Pinewood derby car kits will be provided  and girls with their grown ups will build their best car and be prepared for their Derby!

STEM+M

Juniors and Cadettes, check out some exciting career paths in the health care field through this interactive workshop at ProMedica. Hands-on activities will be provided by ProMedica’s medical professionals.

Woodhaven Grand Opening

What’s old is new again! The lodges and Girl Scout Center on this beloved property will be spending a chunk of the summer undergoing renovations, so this fall will be time to show off the new features. Anxious to explore it all? Girls of all levels can join us for a day of camp fun with archery, slingshots, outdoor cooking, fishing in the pond, and tours of the newly renovated buildings and added program spaces. We’re so excited to show off Woodhaven!

Senior and Ambassador Journey Retreat

Sisterhood! It’s found in those moments of real connection that you experience with girlfriends, your mother, other female relatives and your Girl Scout sisters—and all the connections you will experience with the girls and women you have yet to meet. Hear the stories of dreams and dreamers. Learn how a leader can pursue her personal dreams and make it possible for others to do the same. Using your talents and skills in new ways, take on a project that helps others achieve their own dreams. You’ll gain a better understanding of how you can change the world for all women and girls with sisterhood behind you.

Girls will earn the Discover and Connect parts of the Senior Mission: Sisterhood and Ambassador Bliss Journeys at this retreat.

Journey Jumpstarts

Want to start a Girl Scout Journey? We’ve got the tools to jump start your Journey adventure! Join us for our fun Journey focused events below, as girls explore the topics of an age appropriate Journey, complete requirements for part of the Journey Awards, and are given the tools needed to finish the Journey with a take action project.

The Power of YOUR Story

Juniors and Cadettes work with a spoken word artist from Elementz to develop self-esteem, confidence, and inner strength through this powerful art form. Explore what qualities make you unique and which life experiences set your story apart from others’. Write your own poem that celebrates who you are, and take a whack at performing it with other Girl Scouts!

STEM in the Outdoors

Want to know more about careers in STEM? Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors can discover what STEM professionals really do and what it takes to prepare for these careers through short seminars and activity stations.
