There’s a Webinar for That! Volunteer Learning Opportunities at GSWO
Our council is committed to providing a volunteer experience that’s easy, enriching, and impactful. Having quality resources to help our volunteers in their roles is an important part of reaching that goal. To do this we redesigned our learning opportunities to be more accessible to volunteers across all of western Ohio!
A large part of that redesign was creating webinar-based learning opportunities that can be reviewed on your mobile device or laptop, at a time and place that fits into your busy schedule. It’s a brave new webinar world, volunteers!
So where do you find our webinars?
All of our webinars and information on other important volunteer trainings and resources can be found at gswo.org in our Volunteer Resources section under Learning Opportunities. There you can find links to trainings and resources like Girl Scouting 101, Troop Start Up, Camp, Troop Financial Management, Transportation and Safety, and Webinars for volunteers for a variety of roles.

Learn how to structure and run a troop meeting year round. Gather best practice techniques for gathering girl input, keeping the peace, and engaging parents. Dig deeper into some program resources to help you enhance your amazing troop experience.

Learn how amazing and impactful the Girl Scout Journey books are! You will learn how to use girl planning along with these books to design your troop year. You will also see how to incorporate service learning at all ages to prepare your girls for earning their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.

Fall Product Sale Basics
Whether you are a new fall product manager or just want a refresher, join us to review a host of menu items. We will help you to get the girls excited and set sales goals for a great year. You will step up like a pro when you know how to access and use the Me2 online system, delivery and money collection procedures, and completing paperwork. This sale is a great way for girls to earn the money needed to have an active year.

Troop Financial Management
Use these best practice tips to be a troop financial wizard. You will learn how to keep accurate records, and involve girls in troop money management, as well as money earning and troop sponsorship policies and year end reporting. This learning is required for all approved volunteers who manage troop funds.
